Charity Fashion Show

Charity Fashion Show

When we first started planning our fundraising event, we went straight for the basics. We imagined games, raffles, prizes and all the usual things you see at a charity event. It seemed like the obvious choice. After a few conversations, though, we realised that we had something far more unique at our fingertips. With four shops filled with amazing clothing, friends who play in bands, and a community full of creative people, it made sense to build an event that truly reflected who we are. We wanted something lively and memorable, something that would draw in the locals and inspire them to support a brilliant cause.

CoppaFeel! is a charity dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer among young people. Their mission is to encourage everyone to check themselves regularly and to feel confident doing so. We felt strongly that our event needed to be about more than just collecting donations. It was important for us to help amplify the message that CoppaFeel! works so hard to spread, and to create a space where people could have fun while also learning something valuable.

At first, we considered giving the whole show a single theme. It seemed like the simplest way to tie everything together. However, because each of our four shops has its own distinct style and atmosphere, we realised it would be much more exciting to let each store guide its own look. This decision opened up so many possibilities. In the end, we created a mix of Halloween-inspired outfits, fun and colourful Y2K styles, cowboy and western looks, streetwear, and classic vintage pieces. The variety added so much energy to the event and truly showcased the diversity of what our shops have to offer.

The next step was choosing the models. Fortunately, Shrewsbury is full of confident and stylish people, so this turned out to be one of the easiest parts of the entire project. We selected seven models in total, four girls and three boys. Each model was paired with a member of staff, and we encouraged everyone involved to get creative, experiment with ideas and enjoy the process. This freedom led to some incredible styling choices that really showed off the personality of each shop.

Of course, even though we wanted to embrace our love for fashion and music, no charity event feels complete without a raffle. With that in mind, we began reaching out to local businesses to see if they would be willing to support us. The response was incredible. We received an enormous amount of generosity and enthusiasm from the community, and the range of prizes we were given made the raffle one of the most competitive and exciting parts of the entire night. It added a brilliant sense of anticipation and brought everyone together for a final moment of shared excitement.

The evening itself ran smoothly. Our staff members Daisy and Kya prepared a great spread of food for everyone to graze on A live band featuring Kya and her friends performed throughout the show, providing a soft, melodic soundtrack that added to the atmosphere. Our models fully embraced the moment. They walked confidently, interacted with the audience, danced, laughed and brought a genuine sense of joy to the room.

Before the fashion show began, Albany from CoppaFeel! took a moment to speak about the charity, its beginnings and the vital work they do. It was a meaningful reminder of why the event mattered and helped connect everyone in the room to the cause. Overall, the night was lively, heartfelt and full of fun. People were encouraged to enjoy some late night shopping, eat good food, have a drink, laugh with friends and support an important message. It was everything we hoped it would be.
